Raymond Blanc – who has trained top chefs such as Marco Pierre-White and Michael Caines at his award-winning Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons – said:
“I love the concept behind Liverpool Food and Drink Festival. Talented local chefs coming together to showcase their signature dishes in one of the city’s most beautiful parks is such a wonderful idea.
“Great food should be celebrated in this way and I’m really looking forward to exploring the local food and drink scene during the festivities.” – Raymond Blanc
If you haven’t ‘checked in’ at Wreckfish Bistro, are you even a foodie? After receiving such a huge reception at last year’s September fest, straight-talking Wreckfish owner, Gary Usher is back on the bill this year, cooking up: braised octopus and aubergine, followed by dark chocolate tart drizzled in honeycomb and Chantilly cream – not to be missed.
The joint winner, alongside Keri Moss, of BBC series Masterchef: The Professionals in 2012, Anton Piotrowski will be returning to Sefton Park this September. The Michelin star chef is a massive hit with foodies and will be making his appearance following the opening of his ‘outstanding’ restaurant based in Rodney Street; Roski. Donning his culinary skills, attendees will get to watch the master at work, as he whips up an admirable Welsh wagyu & guinea fowl dish.
Fresh on the Liverpool Food and Drink scene, Co-founder and executive chef of the Marram Grass in Anglesey, Ellis Barrie will be making his debut at this year’s September festival. Ellis is known for his appearances on Great British Menu in 2017, Terry and Mason’s Great Food Trip and Michel Roux Jr’s Hidden Restaurant’s on Channel 4. Don’t miss Ellis put his premium, rustic touch on a Crab and Celeriac Rissotto – tasty.
Having graduated from the Culinary Institute of Alicante at age 20 and collecting a vast experience with Michelin Star restaurants around the world in countries such as Spain, China, Thailand & Germany, Francisco Martinez landed in the UK in 2014 to become the Executive Chef to the award-winning restaurant Fazenda Rodizio Bar & Grill. Don’t miss his debut at LFDF ’18 – in the Celebrity Chef Theatre Tent – where the expert himself will be sharing tips on meat-probing, butchering & slow-cooking.
- Saturday: Picanha & Vinagrette – Fran will be teaching the audience on how use meat probes at home to achieve great results
- Sunday: Wagyu Sirloin – Fran will be teaching the audience all about slow cooking methods at home, showing them “sous vide cooking” (wagyu)
*On both days Fran will also talk about butchering.
